Saturday, December 20th at Noon

If you celebrate the winter solstice, you are celebrating the birth of Christ! In the midst of the darkness, a new light is born. He brings the gift of the present; He is the living Word of God, the Logos, the Savior who can set you free. He is Lord Jesus Christ, in whose magical name can be found the ever flowing Way leading you back home.

He is within and without, above and below. And when you are given the gift of the gnosis… when you see the full truth of who he is, his return becomes complete in your inner world, shining out from within you to the outer world. No one needs to wait for the return of Christ, as he turns the night to day each and every morning, a never ending reminder of his everlasting love.

Through the cycle of the seasons, the order of the heavens is again shown which was created as a constant sign of the light always returning to the darkest of times. The death and rebirth of the light can be found forever happening on the cross of the equinoxes and solstices within the circle of our heavens.

We would be honored for you to join us for a ritual at the stone circle, followed by a potluck in the hoophouse. Our ceremonies are participatory, so please come ready to play a role in the ritual. It’s not about putting on a show, but connecting to the spirit of the ceremony, and coming together in celebration. It is always a beautiful time sharing in community!

As always, it’s really helpful if you can let me know if you’re coming beforehand so that I may be sure to create a beautiful and welcoming experience for you. I do put a great deal of time and effort into each celebration, so donations are also always very much appreciated, so that I may continue facilitating these events.

We request that you bring a dish to pass for the potluck, and if you can remember to add an ingredients label, that is also helpful for those with allergies. :)

Please always feel free to message me here with any questions or concerns, or contact me at crossinghedgerowssanctuary@gmail.com . I look forward to hearing from you!

With all the very best wishes for you and yours,

Jean

Jean Cavanaugh is the founder and steward of Crossing Hedgerows Sanctuary, established in 2019 as a living, learning community devoted to reconnecting people with the wisdom of nature, the sacred order of creation, and the presence of Christ within all life. Her work brings together spiritual formation, ecological stewardship, ancestral wisdom, and hands-on community practice.

Through years of practical work on the land, study of the Mysteries, and the healing of her own severe health challenges through natural methods, Jean has come to recognize God’s hand at work throughout creation. Her teachings, rooted in the Mystery School tradition and Christian gnosis, explore how the patterns of heaven, earth, and the human body reveal the way back to divine presence, peace, and inner strength.

Jean leads with honesty, integrity, and a deeply welcoming spirit, inviting others to let go of inherited assumptions and rediscover truth through lived experience and embodied understanding. She works with all ages—from preschoolers to elders—offering programs and celebrations that emphasize direct engagement with nature, music, story, homesteading skills, and in-person community.

She and her family live at the 21-acre Crossing Hedgerows Sanctuary, where daily life reflects a commitment to simplicity, beauty, and harmony with the land. The sanctuary includes gardens, woodland trails, a seasonal creek, gathering circles, and spaces designed to nourish both people and wildlife. Jean is especially passionate about creating environments that are grounding, beautiful, and spiritually restorative.

Through her writing and teaching, Jean encourages others to know themselves, know creation, and recognize Christ as the living truth present within and around us—always inviting a return to love, beauty, and the sacred order of life.
