WELCOME TO
CROSSING HEDGEROWS SANCTUARY

Crossing Hedgerows Sanctuary is a living space where community, nature, and the spirit meet in harmony. We are dedicated to connecting with God, the wisdom of the natural world, and the inner truths that guide each of us. Grounded in the timeless teachings of the mystery school traditions—with a particular emphasis on the Gnostic Christian path—we seek to remember who we are and why we are here. This foundation shapes our commitment to living and acting from love, preparing us to walk in “the way, the truth, and the life.”

A Sanctuary of Learning and Sharing

Our vision is to cultivate a space that nourishes both land and soul. Through regenerative practices, permaculture design, and conservation efforts, we’ve created an environment that supports a rich variety of community activities. From workshops in the arts, crafts, and holistic healing to seasonal celebrations, music, storytelling, and gardening, Crossing Hedgerows offers opportunities for people of all ages to engage, learn, and grow together. As a member of the Botanical Sanctuary Network, we also hold a deep responsibility for protecting rare and native plants and the delicate ecosystems that sustain them.

Programs for All Ages

Education and inspiration are at the heart of our offerings. Our children’s nature and mystery school welcomes families to explore the world through story, song, craft, and play. Drawing from myths and sacred stories from many cultures, and guided by the principles of the Gnostic Christian mystery tradition, these gatherings are more than lessons—they’re invitations to live more deeply. Nature walks, constellation studies, sacred geometry, and hands-on art projects help participants see the wonder in the everyday and apply these insights in meaningful ways.

Working & Celebrating Together

We believe that tending the land together strengthens our bonds with one another. Our work days are times of practical care—whether planting gardens, maintaining spaces, or preparing for events—woven with camaraderie and purpose. Our seasonal celebrations honor the cycles of nature and the promise of renewal, blending potlucks, bonfires, and ceremony. These moments draw on ancient wisdom, uniting community in gratitude for the gifts of each turning season.

OUR PROGRAMS

Each meetup intertwines teachings of The Mysteries with songs, arts and crafts, nature walks, games, and stories. We use myths from all different indigenous and religious traditions, but with a main focus on the Gnostic Christian mystery tradition.

The attached video gives you a sampling of one of the lessons. Please feel free to pause it to get a good sense of the lesson. It includes both a Bible story as well as The Druid Prayer for Peace.

Another of the lessons includes the chapter called Yggdrasil, the World Tree from D’aulaires’ Book of Norse Myths for children. And another includes Arrow to the Sun: a Pueblo Indian tale by Gerald McDermott. These are just some examples of the variety of mythology woven into each lesson.

We also create lots of nature crafts using Your Wild Books by Brooke Davis. And we learn about plants and animals, constellations and star studies, and sacred geometry among other things.

But as we say in the video… It’s not just about packing our brains with facts, but uncovering new angles and applying them to our lives. Thanks a bunch for joining this ride. Let’s keep cheering and inspiring each other as we go on this journey together! I promise you won’t be disappointed!
