Event: 🐓Tour of Crossing Hedgerows Homestead, and Making Smoke Cleansing Bundles

I think we all are understanding more and more as the years go by that it’s not wise to depend only on outside systems

Saturday, May 17th at 2pm 🪵🍄

It’s been awhile since we’ve had a meetup! Let’s ease back into our gatherings with a leisurely walk around the sanctuary, and some conversation about homesteading. As I think we all know by now, it’s not wise to depend only on outside systems to take care of us. Are there things you would like to delve deeper into that could help you feel more self empowered? There will be a tour of the perennial garden areas, the chicken set up, the composting outhouse, and time for questions.

Following the walk we’ll harvest some cedar and juniper boughs for everyone to make their own smoke bundles to take home. These are traditionally used for purifying your spaces and clearing negative energies. This is something we don’t need to purchase, especially when we don’t always know if something we buy was grown sustainably or imbued with good energy in general. So this will be one small example of seeing how easy it is to be self empowered!

I use smoke clearing sticks as a druid in my ceremonies, to bless and cleanse my house, to cleanse outdoor spaces that are in some kind of energetic funk.  But I also use them practically–as a blessing for my garden at the start of the growing season, as a way to remove hostile energies from my chickens who aren’t getting along, or to pass among friends before sharing a meal.  They are a great way to bring a bit of ceremony and the sacred into the everyday.

This event will be free for supporters at any level here on Patreon, and $10 for the general public. It is recommended you bring boots for any muddy areas and for the chicken yard.

Please RSVP by the end of Thursday, May 15th so I can plan accordingly.

Here’s to your rising!

Her work brings together spiritual formation, ecological stewardship, ancestral wisdom, and hands-on community practice.

Through years of practical work on the land, study of the Mysteries, and the healing of her own severe health challenges through natural methods, Jean has come to recognize God’s hand at work throughout creation. Her teachings, rooted in the Mystery School tradition and Christian gnosis, explore how the patterns of heaven, earth, and the human body reveal the way back to divine presence, peace, and inner strength.

Jean leads with honesty, integrity, and a deeply welcoming spirit, inviting others to let go of inherited assumptions and rediscover truth through lived experience and embodied understanding. She works with all ages—from preschoolers to elders—offering programs and celebrations that emphasize direct engagement with nature, music, story, homesteading skills, and in-person community.

She and her family live at the 21-acre Crossing Hedgerows Sanctuary, where daily life reflects a commitment to simplicity, beauty, and harmony with the land. The sanctuary includes gardens, woodland trails, a seasonal creek, gathering circles, and spaces designed to nourish both people and wildlife. Jean is especially passionate about creating environments that are grounding, beautiful, and spiritually restorative.

Through her writing and teaching, Jean encourages others to know themselves, know creation, and recognize Christ as the living truth present within and around us—always inviting a return to love, beauty, and the sacred order of life.
