On August 17, join us round the bonfire to celebrate the first fruits harvest! While in many pagan faiths, Lughnasadh, or Lammas, is celebrated on August 1st, the Sanctuary follows the seasons closely in conjunction with the Cavanaughs’ working farm. Because Michigan had a long cold spring delaying planting for many farmers, we are celebrating the “first harvest” a little later, at the full Sturgeon Moon.
We will start the celebration at 5:00 pm. Children and friends welcome! For the sake of the chickens, please leave your pets at home. Please bring a dish to share with all.
