Event: Crossing Hedgerows Circle Meet-up
August 20th from 10 AM to 1 PM
Our first meet-up was a lovely, intimate gathering and I am so excited to continue to offer these times of connecting with each other. The next Circle Meet-up topic will be, Fire is Medicine, with a celebration of our life force energy, sunshine, sexuality, and the Sun God Lugh / Lughnasadh. Our activity for this session will be to make Corn Husk Dolls together. Corn husk dollies are meant to be the embodiment of the spirit of the grain harvest. They are created to be kept throughout the winter in honor of this spirit of life energy and can be put on our altars as a reminder until the next crop of grain is sowed. Cost of materials will be included in your sign-up fee.
🌀Facilitated by Jean Cavanaugh, in each session we will dive into a topic, sample food using our farm fresh ingredients, and experience the healing of earth, water, air, and fire on the land of Crossing Hedgerows.
🌀There will be a variety of activities such as kundalini breathwork, art, gardening, singing, rituals, magic, plant walks, and more! During our meet-ups, we will spiral through the different permaculture zones, as well as the elements, to gain greater understanding of our ecosystems and how to become empowered in our lives to create ever more inner and outer resiliency and abundance. Our approach will be with openness and curiosity, rather than doom and gloom negativity.
🌀Jean has degrees in anthropology and history, unschooled her children all the way through their school years, and has practiced permaculture design and farming for the past 15 years. She is a practicing Druid, with membership in the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids. She is currently studying at the Ovate grade.
We invite you to be part of this small community – each week we will limit the capacity to 20 participants. Cost is $25 per session with a $5 discount for members of Crossing Hedgerows Sanctuary.
Select Sundays from 10am to noon, social time following until 1pm.
The following is a list of the first six dates, and then we will decide after that how we want to proceed.
July 30th, August 20th, August 27th, Sept 17th, October 1st, and October 8th
The topic for Aug. 20th will be: *FIRE IS MEDICINE* 🔥
Please direct message us here, or at crossinghedgerows@gmail.com for further details on the upcoming session topic (or any other questions), and to sign up. You can sign up for all remaining 5 sessions at once if you would like to reserve your spot! Payment will be due at sign-up.
We hope to see you in the Circle! 🔅
Blessed Be,
Jean

Jean Cavanaugh is the founder and steward of Crossing Hedgerows Sanctuary, established in 2019 as a living, learning community devoted to reconnecting people with the wisdom of nature, the sacred order of creation, and the presence of Christ within all life. Her work brings together spiritual formation, ecological stewardship, ancestral wisdom, and hands-on community practice.
Through years of practical work on the land, study of the Mysteries, and the healing of her own severe health challenges through natural methods, Jean has come to recognize God’s hand at work throughout creation. Her teachings, rooted in the Mystery School tradition and Christian gnosis, explore how the patterns of heaven, earth, and the human body reveal the way back to divine presence, peace, and inner strength.
Jean leads with honesty, integrity, and a deeply welcoming spirit, inviting others to let go of inherited assumptions and rediscover truth through lived experience and embodied understanding. She works with all ages—from preschoolers to elders—offering programs and celebrations that emphasize direct engagement with nature, music, story, homesteading skills, and in-person community.
She and her family live at the 21-acre Crossing Hedgerows Sanctuary, where daily life reflects a commitment to simplicity, beauty, and harmony with the land. The sanctuary includes gardens, woodland trails, a seasonal creek, gathering circles, and spaces designed to nourish both people and wildlife. Jean is especially passionate about creating environments that are grounding, beautiful, and spiritually restorative.
Through her writing and teaching, Jean encourages others to know themselves, know creation, and recognize Christ as the living truth present within and around us—always inviting a return to love, beauty, and the sacred order of life.
