We had a relaxing gathering yesterday. It was spent mostly sitting in the shade of a mulberry tree whilst sharing a potluck together. We were serenaded by a catbird, one of which Brennah captured in this photo a few days prior.

According to the Cornell Bird Lab, “Catbirds are secretive but energetic, hopping and fluttering from branch to branch through tangles of vegetation. Singing males sit atop shrubs and small trees. Catbirds are reluctant to fly across open areas, preferring quick, low flights over vegetation. Look for Gray Catbirds in dense tangles of shrubs, small trees, and vines, along forest edges, streamside thickets, old fields, and fencerows.”
Also a couple of lucky folks got to pick some of the first ripening peaches off our peach tree.
It’s always a joy to connect and catch up in person, and an honor to co-create with such wonderful people. And sometimes it’s nice simply to sit quietly together in awareness and fellowship.
Blessings from the Sanctuary,
Jean
