Welcome to the Path of The Mysteries
Welcome to the Path of The Mysteries
The Mystery School at Crossing Hedgerows Sanctuary is a place where ancient wisdom meets modern life, where the timeless stories of humanity are explored, celebrated, and applied to the way we live today. Here, learning is not confined to books or lectures — it is woven into song, story, art, nature, and community.
Each of our meetups blends teachings of The Mysteries with immersive activities that speak to the heart and spirit: songs that inspire, arts and crafts that bring stories to life, nature walks that reconnect us to the Earth, games that spark joy, and stories that carry the weight of centuries.
Our focus is rooted in the Gnostic Christian mystery tradition, but we draw from the myths, spiritual teachings, and sacred narratives of cultures across the world. In every gathering, you are invited into a space of wonder, where ancient threads are woven into new patterns of understanding.

Six Around One
The “Six Around One” presentation is an example of how we approach learning within the Mystery School. It is not merely a lesson to be understood intellectually, but an invitation to perceive differently — to recognize patterns, symbols, and relationships that reveal deeper layers of meaning.
In this work, students are guided to observe how a single unifying center expresses itself through surrounding forms. The pattern appears in sacred geometry, in the movements of the heavens, in the structure of the natural world, and in the architecture of spiritual traditions. By learning to decode such arrangements, participants begin to see that symbols are not decorative — they are carriers of knowledge. They speak a language older than words.
The practice of recognizing recurring forms trains the eye and the heart simultaneously. What at first appears as a simple configuration gradually unfolds into a map of correspondence: heaven and earth, inner and outer, microcosm and macrocosm. The student discovers that symbols interlock across disciplines — cosmology, scripture, nature, art, and the human body — each echoing the same underlying order.
This is the essence of the Great Work: to awaken perception. To move from passive observation to conscious participation. When we begin to recognize the patterns woven through creation, we no longer stand outside the Mystery — we find ourselves within it.
“Six Around One” serves as a doorway into this mode of seeing. It demonstrates how symbolic literacy restores coherence to the world, inviting us to read the language of the cosmos, the land, and our own lives with greater clarity and reverence.

A Tapestry of Sacred Stories
A Tapestry of Sacred Stories
The Mystery School embraces the stories humanity has carried for generations — the ones told around fires, whispered in temples, painted in manuscripts, and danced in the open air.
Our lessons might include:
-
Biblical parables and Gnostic texts, exploring their deeper, symbolic meanings.
-
The Druid Prayer for Peace, calling us into harmony with the natural and spiritual worlds.
-
Norse Mythology, such as Yggdrasil, the World Tree from D’Aulaires’ Book of Norse Myths, revealing the sacred connection of all life.
-
Indigenous tales, like Arrow to the Sun, a Pueblo Indian story of courage and spiritual awakening.
These stories are not just “told” — they are experienced. Through crafts, movement, reflection, and shared dialogue, we bring each myth to life, allowing its wisdom to take root in our own journeys.

-
Exploring constellations and star patterns under the night sky
-
Introducing sacred geometry and its patterns in nature
This hands-on approach ensures that learning is embodied, not just intellectual — something you can see, touch, and remember.
